School Laboratory Milestones
Programs »Opticks« und »Elektricität«

History of science comes alive in the school laboratory »Milestones«: Following a time jump, students will land in the workrooms of famous scientists like Isaac Newton or Alessandro Volta. There, they will encounter milestones in the history of natural science and explore the domains of optics and electricity with the help of true-to-the-original replicas. Written sources provide insights into the life and work of famous researchers and demonstrate how science communication takes place. This way, scientific research is presented in its historic context. The electricity-program explores key characteristics of electricity and different models for representing it. Questions such as »What is light« or »How do colours originate?« are at the core of the optics-program.
