A completely new urban area is being created in the middle of Berlin. On the 500-hectare area of thenformer Tegel Airport urban life, housing and work are being reimagined. With the Urban Tech Republic as a research and industrial park for green technologies, the Schumacher Quarter as a socio-ecological residential district and a huge nature and recreation area, Berlin TXL is one of the largest and most forward-looking urban development projects in Europe.
