The Deutsche Kinemathek – Museum für Film und Fernsehen is one of Europe's leading institutions dedicated to the preservation and communication of audiovisual heritage. In its new temporary home at the E-Werk in Berlin-Mitte, it invites visitors to enjoy a wide range of film and television experiences until the opening of a new film centre. It hosts experimental exhibitions, curated film series, productions from the television archive and the Film Restored festival. The Kinemathek reaches a wide audience through a varied educational and events programme, as well as with the Retrospective and Berlinale Classics, which it organises as part of the Berlin International Film Festival. Its archives and specialist library make the Kinemathek an important venue for science and research.
